Club Reward System

Our club has developed a unique reward system designed especially for children who are taking their first steps in judo.
At the beginner level, students learn the fundamental judo throws. For mastering each throw, a child earns a stripe, which reflects their progress and motivates them to continue training.
To earn stripes on the white-yellow belt, we use special belt patches. Each patch corresponds to a specific throw or group of throws that the child must successfully learn. Once the requirements are met, the patch is credited, and the athlete receives the corresponding stripe.
This system allows us to:
  • clearly track a child’s progress;
  • maintain motivation and interest in training;
  • build confidence and discipline;
  • make the learning process clear and engaging.
Below, you can see which patches are used on the white-yellow belt to earn stripes.

10th Kyu — White/Yellow Belt in Judo

Dynamo Sports Center | Judo Belts Club
At Dynamo Sports Center, the Judo Belts club follows the official USA Judo methodology, which is designed to support safe, structured, and age-appropriate development for young athletes.
The 10th kyu (white/yellow belt) represents the beginner level in judo, where children are introduced to fundamental techniques, mat etiquette, and the core principles of the sport.
10th Kyu Fundamental Curriculum (White/Yellow Belt)
According to USA Judo guidelines, students at this level learn the following basics:
Standing Judo Fundamentals:
  • Rei (bowing)
  • Ukemi (falling techniques)
  • Shisei (posture)
  • Kuzushi (off-balancing)
  • Kumikata (gripping)
Throwing Techniques (Nage-waza):
  • Ashi-waza: O-uchi-gari
  • Koshi-waza: Uki-goshi
Groundwork Fundamentals (Ne-waza):
  • Basic movement and attacks on the ground
  • Face-down and all-fours positions
Holding Techniques (Osaekomi-waza):
  • Kesa-gatame
Individual Development Comes First
USA Judo emphasizes that every child develops at a different pace, which is why belt promotion and rank testing are always at the coach’s discretion. The listed techniques serve as a general guideline, not a strict testing requirement.
At Judo Belts club, we fully support this philosophy:
  • each child is evaluated individually;
  • safety, technique, and understanding come first;
  • belts are awarded when the student is truly ready.
Our mission is not just belt progression, but building confidence, discipline, and a lifelong appreciation for judo.
